An opportunity for Baltimore City Youth

A 2 day Photo Journalism Jr. Master Class by;

D.Watkins (best selling author, The Beast Side and The Cook Up) &
Devin Allen (Top 10 Times Magazine Cover Photographer)

20 youth, ages 14-18 are asked to send a photo with a story (no more than a page in length) to [email protected]

10 will be selected for photography and 10 will be selected for journalism

-August 15th and 16th, 11am-4pm
-Selected youth will be notified by Tuesday August 8th.

Workshop final presentations will be showcased at the Red Bull Amaphiko Festival at Impact Hub Baltimore, Station North from 3pm to 8pm on Sunday, August 20.

I work with mostly Black Fathers who have issues with being present in their child's life (often at no fault of their own).
Every so often we like to create experiences between the father and child by taking them out on bonding events....

The Circus is coming up and I would like to take 15 dads and a child (30 people total)... (June 10th is the day)

I'm wondering if my friends would help me by donating $10/$20 to help sponsor the outing.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS AND ARTISTS COLLAB:

Submit your IDEAS TODAY!!

WHAT YOU WILL GET:

1) Organizers will provide a $7500 cash grant to assist artist in bringing gallery exhibit to life.
2) Use of an approximately 800 sq. feet of indoor gallery space.
3) Creative and logistical support as necessary and mutually agreed.
4) Promotion of artist and gallery exhibit via owned media channels.
5) NOTE: Organizers to have no ownership over exhibit or intellectual property, but organizers will have rights to film and photograph exhibit and use such content for promotional purposes.

We are seeking an artist or artist collective to build out a multi-media art exhibition to be on display at the Eubie Blake Center during the Red Bull Amaphiko Academy taking place August 11 to 20, 2017.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

1) Choose a social topic or issue that is relevant to your community and you have a passion for addressing.
2) Utilize your creative talents to bring awareness to this topic/ issue and transform the mindsets of how people currently think about or perceive this particular topic.
3) Design and build out a multi-media art exhibit at the Eubie Blake Cultural Art Center

12/30 Painting Activity 1-3 pm @ 5406 Valley Rd. Catonsville, MD--
Opportunity for local artist to briefly talk to youth about the power of art as a form of activism, and give minimal instruction on how to approach painting (10-15 minutes). Followed by painting with the youth (2 hours 45 minutes).

Any artists interested in participating? A great opportunity to engage with youth around your passions!

Walks of ART has been working in partnership with the Youth Know-how Initiative at Liberty Rec and Technology Center. Beginning in January we will ne doing a combination of Spoken Word and Photography with youth 14-19 years of age..
