World AIDS Day is a day of remembrance — and this year, a day of clarity.
On Monday, STAR stood in two powerful rooms:
✨ one filled with pioneers and survivors who lived through the height of the HIV epidemic,
✨ and another filled with students learning the stories their families carried in silence.
Across generations, one truth remained clear:
Community is our greatest teacher and our greatest innovator.
And the photos tell a powerful story of their own —
Black women at the center of this work, shaping pathways of care, dignity, and possibility for more than 30 years.
STAR’s entire model of care was born from HIV work.
It was in this movement that we built what we now call our community engine — a model rooted in trust, proximity, cultural humility, and love.
The brilliance of community didn’t just influence STAR.
It created STAR.
Today and every day, we honor:
❤️ the lives impacted by HIV
❤️ the survivors still leading
❤️ the families carrying memory and hope
❤️ the employees and partners who built this work from the ground up
Our commitment continues:
🔹 Tell the truth.
🔹 Train and support the workforce that makes health real.
🔹 Build a community engine where prevention, care, and dignity are truly accessible to everyone.
If this work resonates with you, we invite you to stay connected, share this message, and support STAR as we continue to serve our community.
