I'm so relieved and happy to announce that Angelica had her surgery yesterday, and it was a success! 🎉 We were able to secure the funds by crossposting and receiving multiple grants. I can't say thank you enough to everyone who helped share and fundraise for Angelica, especially , who helped network with the other rescue organizations and found a foster for Angelica! 💞 Also a huge thanks to Homeward Bound for performing a successful surgery! 🙏🏻 Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery! 🤞🏻

Angelica update! Not only has found a foster for her, but she also has a surgery appointment scheduled for March 13th! 🎉 This is incredible news and I'm so grateful, but we still need to try to raise as much money as we can beforehand to help SYSS pay for the costs of Angelica's care. Please continue to share the fundraiser and/or follow this link to donate: https://gofund.me/ca8023b2

$5 Friday! Swipe to see what your donations do for street cats in Baltimore. 2 months ago Caramel Swirl came to me and he was cold, lethargic and couldn't hold his head up. Today he is healthy and happy! Tomorrow he goes to Defenders of Animal rights to be placed up for adoption and find his forever home 🏡 I love this little guy so much. He is PERFECT and he wiggled his way into my heart. 🧡

With donations I am able to continue to take cats off the streets, get them healthy and network them to rescues or foster them myself if they have medical issues or are shy. I don't have a facility to do this from. Just a sunroom in my parent's house and a fully finished shed. Every dollar helps.

With a $5 donation you will be entered into a drawing to win a beautiful cat shell ornament 🎄 from . See my post from yesterday for photos.

Caramel Swirl's long lost brother is here! And he's equally as sweet and just as adorable. It was originally Caramel Swirl, his mom and 2 siblings on the street (all friendly). I took Caramel when he got sick and I found out about his family. A rescue group came and took 1 sibling and that left this guy and his mom.

went and got this guy and one neighbor who feeds the mom did not want her to be rehomed. The other 2 feeders want her to find a home. So shes on the street right now. I have a problem with people rescuing kittens and leaving the mom, and I'm not going to be one of those people. The thought of her sleeping in a freezing alley this winter doesnt sit well with me. I believe she was someones cat at some point and she doesnt deserve to live in an alley. I'm going to get her, it will just take me a minute.

Caramel Swirl went to the vet yesterday. $200 later- he has a cold. He had a fever and was very lethargic. He received fluids, b12, antibiotics, and other medication. Receipt attached. Basically all I can do is give him the medication and provide supportive care 🥺🧡

His mom and brother are still on the street, both friendly from what I'm told.

If anyone wants to help me help these cats, swipe to see the Baseball pool. 50 boxes still empty. venmo/PayPal: jmcatlady. $700 payout ! Thank you!

Caramel Swirl all of the sudden became lethargic and will barely eat or drink. All he does is lay in his bed and cry. He has been fine since he recovered from that horrible URI. So I am concerned. We are at the vet now (the same one that treated him in the first place). I know its going to be between a $200 and $400 bill that will just have to go on care credit. Digging myself deeper with vet bills. It never ends 🥺

He was supposed to go to a rescue tomorrow but I cant send him anywhere until he's healthy. I love this little guy and I hate seeing him not feeling well.

On Friday, I visited a family of cats living amongst some junk in a backyard in Dundalk. The mother (tortie) let me pet her head, and the kittens ate wet food from a spoon I offered them. I managed to trap the mother and 2 of her kittens. Thankfully was able to trap 2 more kittens yesterday. 🙏🏻 I will be returning very soon to see if there are any more kittens and cats who need trapping! 😼 In the meantime, it makes me very happy to see this little family safe and sheltered, even though they're still very nervous. Aren't they beautiful? 🧡

CARAMEL SWIRL update. I am shocked that Caramel Swirl has pulled through. I thought for sure I was going to lose him the first couple nights. See previous post for photos. He could barely hold his head up when I got him. I took him back to the vet on Thursday because he was not eating. He's on Clavamox but the vet added Doxycycline and a liquid appetite stimulant. He's finally eating and drinking!! Snot is still running out of his nose (it's a nasty nasty upper respiratory infection), but all he does is purr and purr and make biscuits. He's the sweetest little boy. I raised some of the $270 vet bill. I am still $100 short. Receipt attached. Last night I bought him special soft kitten food because that's what he likes.

Initially his finder took him to BARCS where they were going to euthanize him. She called around to several rescues but no one would take him in. She called me and I said yes. If anyone can help me help Caramel, see below.

Venmo & PayPal if anyone can help: jmcatlady. Thank you for helping me help him🧡

🚨Emergency Funds Needed🚨

Caramel Swirl is a community kitten who used to roam the streets of Baltimore City until his feeder noticed he'd dissappeared for a few days and refused to eat or drink once he returned. When I first saw him, Caramel Swirl was incredibly weak - he could barely hold his head up, his breathing was raspy and labored, and kept emitting tiny weak meows. We were worried he wouldn't make it through the night, so a friend of mine rushed him to the ER. He stayed at the hospital all day receiving antibiotics, an antibacterial injection, and various tests. He then spent the night in a foster home and returned to the hospital the next morning for an IV treatment of subcutaneous fluids. The vet believes that Caramel Swirl had a serious Upper Respiratory Infection, but there may also be more going on. These 2 visits alone totalled about $1000, which Show Your Soft Side was incredibly generous to donate. 🙏🏻 However, Caramel Swirl isn't out of the woods yet. While he is looking more alert and cleaner than he was before, he's still not up and running around. He returned to the vet today for a blood sample so they can test his kidney values. The total bill for today was $271.81, and it's hard to say how much future care Caramel Swirl will require. I've included photos of Caramel Swirl, as well as the invoices for his vet visits. Any donations or shares would be greatly appreciated! 💞 If you would like to donate, please use Venmo or PayPal , or send me a message for alternative payment methods.

A community cat spotted in the wild! 🔎 Here's a female tuxedo cat I met - she's fed and cared for by the kind staff of a Tractor Supply Co. (I'm intentionally not saying which one, in case the employees were to get in trouble.) She's shy but sweet, and she has an ear tip, which means she's already been through the TNR process. Here's wishing you a long life; it was a pleasure meeting you, Miss Tuxie! 🖤🤍

On Friday Sweetie crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She passed very quickly and peacefully. I was with her and she was comfortable the entire time. She purred and made tiny biscuits while I held her, waiting for the doctor. The tumor in her jaw quickly spread to her cheek and her eye. There's nothing more we could do for her but it's still hard. I like to think that Sweetie and Cutie's souls found each other after death. Love you both ❤❤🐱🐱🌈🌈
