Maryland women are invited to apply for The ContractHer Homeowner Essentials Workshop Scholarship. This one-day, hands-on workshop is designed for beginners. You will learn practical skills like basic plumbing and electrical repairs, safe tool use, home maintenance, and when to DIY or call a professional. No experience required!

Meet one of HNI's happy customers! Chennel used HNI’s Refinance and Rehab loan to finance home improvement projects including kitchen renovations, pictured above. During HNI’s post-project meeting with Chennel, she said, “You know, a couple years into me living here, I've already made such major changes where it's like imprint on the home is mine. Now I'm like, I can do so much more.”

HNI is excited about what’s next for Chennel. She is already planning to host more of her family this year’s Thanksgiving given the work she completed.

There’s another new business to celebrate on York Road. Please welcome Rasberry Moments, LLC to the neighborhood!

Located at 4646 York Rd, Rasberry Moments offers cinnamon rolls, funnel cakes, and other sweet treats as well as delicious lunch and dinner items. Ms. Rita, owner of Rasberry Moments, gained a substantial following over the years by selling her popular desserts at festivals and events. Now she’s successfully expanded her business with this cafe and storefront to permanently call home.

This opening was made possible in part by Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Project RESTORE 2.0 grant, which provided funding to rehab vacant commercial spaces into active commercial uses. HNI worked with the York Road Improvement District to secure funding and support Rasberry Moments through the construction, permitting, and grant processes.

Be sure to come out and visit this great addition to the York Road and Baltimore community!

New business alert!

Munchies Cafe, located at 5911 York, is now open for business. Munchies offers a range of delicious items, including burgers, pasta, ribeyes, and lamb chops. Plus breakfast items from open to close! Come out and support this locally owned business and great addition to the York Road corridor.
