Happy Heavenly Birthday to my son, Ezequiel. He would have been 22 years old today. ❤️

This photo carries so much meaning — our very first Rise with a Purpose community lunch line. We didn’t have much then, just Baltimore Blessing Bags and a dream. But by my side was Zeke… filling hearts with love, kindness, and that light he carried everywhere he went.

Rise with a Purpose will forever celebrate his spirit and the work he poured into West Baltimore.

We brought our own spin to Shakespeare’s Love’s Labor’s Lost (Act 2, Scene 1) — remixed with a little Fresh Prince of Bel-Air flavor 👑🎶.

My Brilliance Shines Theater Troupe had their last show of the school year yesterday. My students performed two original plays, one based on Thurgood Marshall, the Brown vs Board of Education case, Gloria Richardson and the Jet Cover!

ALERT: Auditions “My Brilliance Shines” Theater Troupe.

This will be our biggest year to date as we perform 10 original short plays January-May 2025.

We are seeking kids 12-18 years old for auditions and rehearsals starting October 15th, 5pm-7pm, Fitzgerald Building, 1201 West Mount Royal Ave. Baltimore, MD!

No experience needed. We are a safe space and a place to think outside of the box!

Rise with a Purpose is the proud recipient of a $20,000 equipment grant from France-Merrick Foundation!

Moving into the Fitzgerald Building off 1201 West Mount Royal Ave, we stocked the space with a full sound system, professional cameras, laptops, a portable recording system and purchased a new company vehicle to transport and outsource our equipment for community events. Our new space and this grant allows us to hold programming 3 days a week for classes, concerts, TV show, rehearsals, poetry, lectures, dance parties and more!

Thank you to our donors and community supporters for raising $1,728.20 in pre ticket sales, while another $650 in donations came in on site for a total of $2,378.20. It was a memorable night at The Motor House as the “My Brilliance Shines” Theater Troupe put their talents on display for a sold out audience.

Special thanks to our host venue , and our DJ for the event .
