Friday the 24th is your last day to vote for the leadership you deserve. If you’ve come out and cast your vote, thank you (even if you made a mistake and didn’t vote for me). If you haven’t voted yet, talk to the candidates and vote who you feel will best represent the membership for the next three years. There is work to be done to get OUR local where I believe we can, and should be. Let me work for you to accomplish this.

This is how the “Leaders” in this city feel about the men and women that dedicate themselves to serving the citizens. While this letter isn’t addressed to Local 734, I’m willing to bet there’s one coming out soon. Personally I found out the same way all of you did, social media.
Let’s change the way important info like this is put out, let’s change the way business is done, let’s be truly transparent.

As many of you know, I am running for 2nd Vice President of Local 734. I don’t have fancy cups or anything to promise you. All I have is my word that I will be OUR voice on the Executive Board.
It’s time for change in OUR union, time for being pro-active and getting ahead of problems. Time for more participation from the membership on committees to get things accomplished. Our Local does many things well, and has for many years, but participation from our membership is not one of them. Let’s change that. There are some great minds around the kitchen tables in the BCFD that help change the world every morning, let’s put them to use.
