Tomorrow is the big day! Ratification voting on our FIRST union contract will take place Wednesday, July 23rd from 8 am - 5 pm in the Lower Level Lobby of the Centre St. building.

Please come out & vote YES for increased wages and improved working conditions.

If you have attended drop-in art making on the weekends, Lunar New Year celebrations, a gallery tour, or an artist lecture you have benefited from these WWU member’s hard work. The Walters Workers United (WWU) applauds the tremendous work of our siblings in struggle and our colleagues at the Baltimore Museum of Art, who all worked together to steward the exhibit honoring the late Freddie Gray and the Baltimore Uprising that followed his murder. This exhibit is a love letter not only to the city but to all communities that are fighting against the hardship that is in front of them. From bargaining contracts to honoring the worker power that moves this city, the BMAU continues to be a guiding light to our struggle here at the Walters Art Museum. Our institutions, along with many others are bastions of history and culture within the city and it is not only an honor, but a duty to respect and empower the communities we welcome into our walls every day.

Yesterday and today were our 26th and 27th bargaining sessions with Walters MGMT. We want to give a special thank you to workers who provided written testimony about health and safety! We ended our day today by reaching a tentative agreement on a Work Week policy! We have had robust discussions about Wages, Preventing Harassment, Health and Safety, and Union/MGMT Rights over the past two days. In additon to those outstanding articles the following remain: Education and Training, PTO, and Insurance and Benefits. We will back in bargaining again on Monday the 23rd!
