Here’s a testimonial from a previous Youth Mental Health First Aid participant:

“As a participant in the Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training through the Mental Health Emergency Fund, I was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The instructors were not only engaging but also made sure to continuously check on our well-being throughout the course. We had the opportunity to participate in a mindfulness exercise that really grounded us, and the facilitators provided a safe space for transparency and openness, which was incredibly important for the nature of our discussions.

The training was both informative and beneficial, equipping me with the knowledge and skills necessary to better serve the young people I work with. I highly recommend this training to anyone looking to enhance their understanding of youth mental health. It’s a valuable resource for anyone committed to making a positive impact in their community.” -Keisha Blake, Founder of the I Am Me Project

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and what better time to get certified as a mental health first aider!

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, coaches, mentors, school staff, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.

This virtual training is only $35 and upon completion, you’ll be certified for 3 years. Get your tickets at the link in ’s bio
