Ann Arrundell County Historical Society The society was founded in 1962, adopting the name and 17th century spelling of the wife of Cecil Calvert, the second Lord Baltimore. Lady Ann (1615-1649).

In 1650, the County was named for Lady Baltimore, at the request of her husband, Cecil Calvert.

The AACHS will be represented at the community event this afternoon. We will be set up behind the Kuethe Library.

Our theme will be our nation's 250th birthday and we will be handing out flags to our visitors.

We’re thrilled to welcome community partners and participants for an evening of Halloween fun! Families and children are welcome to come in costume and visit the different cars decorated by our Community Partners for a spook-takular trick-or-treat experience!

The library will have its Library Book Mobile, “Twig,” decorated for the event, and there will be music and games on the lawn for everyone to enjoy! The Masonic Lodge will also be providing free emergency identification kits for children (MD CHIP program).

PLEASE NOTE:

The dates at the Benson Hammond House for November are the FIRST and THIRD Saturdays instead of the 2nd and 4th like usual. This is due to our Early Christmas Craft Fair and Flea Market on November 7th and the Thanksgiving holiday.

A true labor of love!!

Docent Carol M. Boyer has been working on a project to honor her SHIPLEY Patriot ancestor and it has finally come to fruition.

From reaching out to the cemetery land owner to applying for the stone, then placing it in its rightful spot.

Her devotion to making this a reality is to be recognized and appreciated.
