Some of the deepest wounds carried by youth in foster care are not always physical.

Sometimes, it’s the feeling of being unseen. 💔

Unseen when they enter another temporary home.
Unseen when their identity is dismissed.
Unseen when they’re told to make themselves smaller just to be accepted.

For many LGBTQ+ youth in foster care, the pain is not just instability — it’s feeling like no one truly sees, hears, or understands them.

But every child deserves to be recognized.
To be affirmed.
To be valued exactly as they are. 🌈

This Foster Care Awareness Month, let’s commit to creating homes, systems, and communities where youth are not simply placed… but genuinely seen, supported, and loved.

Because sometimes being seen can save a life.

✨ See them.
✨ Hear them.
✨ Affirm them.
✨ Love them.

05/13/2026

Some children in foster care are not just fighting for stability — they’re fighting to be accepted for who they are. 💔🌈
LGBTQ+ youth are dramatically overrepresented in foster care and face higher rates of rejection, homelessness, bullying, mental health struggles, and aging out of the system without permanent support. Many are surviving environments where they feel unseen, unheard, and unsafe.
That has to change.
Foster Care Awareness Month is more than a campaign. It’s a call to action. A reminder that every child deserves: ✨ A safe home
✨ Affirming support
✨ Stability
✨ Love without conditions
At Journey to Josiah, we believe youth should not have to shrink themselves to receive care. They deserve homes and communities where they are celebrated, protected, and empowered to thrive.
Be a voice.
Be a champion.
Be the reason a young person doesn’t give up.
Because every youth deserves more than survival. They deserve a future. 💙

May is Foster Care Awareness Month — and every child deserves a safe, loving, affirming place to call home. 💙🌈
LGBTQ+ youth are disproportionately represented in foster care and too often face rejection, instability, and lack of support simply for being who they are. At Journey to Josiah, we believe every young person deserves to be seen, affirmed, protected, and loved.
This month, we’re raising awareness, advocating for inclusive and affirming homes, and reminding our communities that love changes lives.
Together, we can build brighter futures for youth in care.
✨ Support. Advocate. Empower.
✨ Be part of the journey.

✨ Monday Morning Motivation | Honoring Ida B. Wells ✊🏾
“Can you remain silent and inactive when such things ARE done in our own community and country?”
— Ida B. Wells
Ida B. Wells didn’t just document injustice.
She confronted it.
At a time when speaking the truth could cost her safety, her livelihood, even her life — she refused to be silent.
Her question still echoes today.
Can you remain silent?
Can you remain inactive?
This week, let’s examine ourselves.
Where are we being called to speak?
Where are we being called to act?
Where are we choosing comfort over courage?
Black History Month is not just about remembering heroes.
It’s about embodying their boldness.
Silence protects systems.
Action creates change.
Let this Monday be the day you move.
