Early voting for the 2026 Gubernatorial General Election begins on October 22, 2026. Each early voting center will be open continuously from 7 am to 8 pm each day. Anyone in line at 8 pm will be allowed to vote.

During early voting, you can vote at any early voting center in the jurisdiction where you live.

Remember early voting begins October 22, 2026, and ends on October 29, 2026. Your vote matters!

This week members of the BRHP team headed to Cleveland, Ohio to join mobility professionals from across the country for the Mobility Works Training Institute and Practitioner Gathering.

This interactive two-day event explores key topics that support successful mobility programs, including trauma-informed pre-and post-move services; mobility-oriented Housing Choice Voucher administration; landlord outreach, recruitment, and retention; participant leadership; and the historical and policy content of housing mobility.

We are thankful for the opportunity to connect and collaborate with fellow housing mobility practitioners, expand our knowledge together, and bring new ideas and insights back to our work supporting families in accessing communities of opportunity.

-211 provides emergency kits for domestic violence victims leaving a home quickly to legal assistance, and free and confidential support.

-The Family Crisis Center of Baltimore County provides resources for emergency shelter and safe housing, victim advocacy, and family counseling.

-The Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence provides resources on domestic violence service providers, information about understanding abuse and seeking help and staying safe.

NEWS ALERT - Do you know your tenants' rights?

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development has published the 2027 Tenants' Bill of Rights, which summarizes key renter rights and protections established by federal and state laws.

Updates to the 2027 Tenants' Bill of Rights include:

-Maryland Fair Chance Housing Act

-Discrimination in Housing for Income-Based Housing Subsidies and Positive Rental History Reporting

-Residential Rental Apartments - Air Conditioning Requirement
