Article on African Liberation Day at Lafayette Square Park
On Saturday, May 25,

African Liberation Day was observed at Lafayette Square Park in West Baltimore. Sponsored and organized by the Maryland Council of Elders and Baba Charlie Dugger.

The afternoon featured numerous speakers, singers and poetry recitals and was punctuated by the music of Proverbs Reggae Band.

MCOE/BAP Town Hall: June 15

The Maryland Council of Elders (MCOE) and Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) have been holding Town Hall Meetings since October of 2023. Their next such event will be on June 15 at Douglass Memorial Church, 1375 Madison Avenue in Baltimore. The theme will be "Students in Resistance". They're calling on youth and students coming together to collectively chart out strategies for resistance. For more information, contact the Maryland Council of Elders by email at [email protected].
