Join us for FHNA Bingo Night!

Prizes! Concessions! Neighborhood fun! Bring your friends! Friday, October 9th at Light Street Presbyterian, 809 Light St. Doors open 5:30, and bingo starts at 6pm.

All funds raised benefit Light Street Presbyterian in order to support our continued use of their wonderful space and equipment for FHNA's monthly meetings.

First ever FHNA Bingo!

10 games, $50 prize every game

$10 per bingo card, OR 5 cards for $40!

Every game has a $50 prize! We have lots of great local prizes, including:

"Mark your calendars for the 22nd annual Oktoberfest by CCSB festival! Join us outside on Saturday, September 26 from 11am to 3:30pm at Holy Cross (110 E West Street). Enjoy live polka music (and polka lessons from the team at B**r and Ballet!), b**r, w**e, and orange crushes, wheels of chance, a huge silent auction and raffle, and more. Menu includes authentic German food: brats (regular and vegetarian), German potato salad, sauerkraut, mac and cheese, spaetzel, pretzels, and more. See you in Federal Hill on 9/26/26 - prost!"

SoWeBo Gateway 5k is coming up Sept. 26 at 9am! Run or walk!
“5k Run/Walk Details: The course starts near the playground at Middle Branch Park, continues past the Baltimore Rowing Center onto Waterview Avenue, turns onto Kloman Street, then loops back via the waterside trail, passes back and forth underneath the Vietnam Veterans Memorial/Hanover Street Bridge to the finish line.
Post-race celebration includes refreshments, music, an awards ceremony, and a resource/vendor fair. Medals awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall male and female finishers, plus 13 age categories and the stroller category.
SoWeBo Gateway 5K t-shirts will be given to all 5K participants.
Registration Fees: Register online at sowebogateway5k.org before June 30, 2026 and pay only $30. Raceday registration from 7:30-8:45am is $40 and discouraged (credit card preferred). Youth 12 and under run for FREE, but they must register online and have waivers signed by a parent or guardian.

Volunteers needed! Teacher Appreciation Breakfast at Digital Harbor High School is coming up August 19, 10am-12:30pm. You can help welcome our Digital Harbor High School teachers into the new school year by serving food, or donating food (or funds for purchase of food). Volunteers to serve the food to the teachers are especially needed! Please sign up to serve breakfast, or to bring a breakfast/lunch food, by emailing Donna at [email protected]. "Last January, Thread partnered with Carefirst and The Orioles for an ambitious painting project to beautify about 26 student bathrooms around Digital Harbor High School. We are now asking for support from our South Baltimore communities to help finish what we started through the end of July.

When:

July 23rd 1-4:30pm

"With the support of the Mayor’s Office, Baltimore City is launching a citywide Pre-K enrollment campaign this summer to help families learn more about Pre-K options across the city. As part of the campaign, community partners are invited to attend a short virtual briefing to learn more about the campaign, what families need to know about their Pre-K options, and how you can help spread the word.

Participation in high-quality Pre-K is connected to stronger kindergarten readiness and long-term life success. Yet too many children and families in Baltimore remain disconnected from the programs and supports that could help them get a strong start, many of which are free for most Baltimore families. "
