Pratt Workers United encourages members and supporters to join the protests today, January 30th at 2pm at 31 Hopkins Plaza and Saturday, January 31st at 3:30pm at City Hall.

Pratt Workers United, along with other unions & organizations, will march as part of the larger Baltimore May Day action. We invite all cultural workers & supporters to join us at 4pm May 1st in front of Central Library for a rally, then a march to McKeldin Square at 5.

Our COLA is on the way! The Board of Estimates approved our Cost Of Living Adjustments on the December 4th meeting. Now all we need is a timeline. Thank you to everyone who sent statements of support!

Tell the Board of Estimates What our COLA means to you!

Our COLA is on the agenda for the December 4th, 2024 Board of Estimates meeting!

Send a Statement of support to [email protected] by noon the day before the meeting (12pm, December 3rd) to let them know you support your local library workers!

Be sure to write the date of the meeting and title of the agenda item in the subject line: "12/4, Memorandum of Agreement between the Enoch Pratt Free Library and the Pratt Workers United, AFSCME Maryland Council 3." Indicate whether you want to address the board at the actual meeting or just to have your statement noted.

You can use the sample letter below as a guide:

"My name is (...) and I am a patron of the Enoch Pratt Free Library. I support the Memorandum of Agreement between the Enoch Pratt Free Library and the Pratt Workers United, AFSCME Maryland Council 3. Supporting my local library workers in their fight for better wages and working conditions is important to me as a patron of the library and as a taxpayer. I (do / do not) wish to address the board."

There's our COLA! We have a written agreement. Now all that's left between PWU members & our COLAs is approval by the Board of Estimates. Thanks to our members, AFCSME Council 3, Pratt leadership, the Labor Commissioner, & everyone else who helped to make this happen!

A true Pratt Library legacy- Sadie Whitt has been with the Pratt for 60 years and works in Acquisition, handling invoices for materials that have been purchased.

We are still glowing from our OVERWHELMING union victory 🥳 We love Enoch Pratt Free Library and are excited to begin the process of negotiating a better workplace for our co-workers and our communities. Let's do this!
