Arnold is looking forward to summer!

Since the weather is warming up, he wanted to remind everyone to bring a water bottle out with them to the barn. We have a water cooler in the office, so feel free to refill your water bottle, and don’t forget to stay hydrated in this heat!

We can’t wait for summer session starting next Monday, June 8th!

As we prepare for our summer session, HorsePower is in desperate need of volunteers to help us continue providing therapeutic riding and hippotherapy lessons to our clients. Right now, we still have 21 volunteer spots that need to be filled between horse leaders and sidewalkers. Without enough volunteers, we may have to turn clients away this summer.

Even if you can donate only one hour of time out of your week, that can completely change the world for our clients who depend on these services. You do not need horse experience to make a difference. We will teach you what you need to know! We just need people willing to show up and be part of something meaningful.

Hey everyone! Banjo has sent out the summer session schedules over email, and wants to remind everybody to check their emails.

Now that summer session schedule has been sent out, we still need clients to confirm their lesson times, and volunteers to sign up for open lesson slots. If you haven’t seen an email from us yet, be sure to check your junk/spam folder too!

Banjo tries his best to keep everything organized, but he has a hard time typing with his hooves!

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out to our Summer Volunteer Training! It was perfect weather outside and we enjoyed some delicious pizza and desserts. We are so excited to have new volunteers out for our summer session, and are excited for lessons to start again!

Reminder that we have our Summer Volunteer Training tomorrow night, Thursday, May 21st 5:30-7:30PM! We will have pizza and a dessert, so come hungry! Freebie, Rosie, and Bella are excited to be apart of the Hope Reins veterans program this morning with the Sioux Falls Vet Center. Days like these when it’s chilly and windy out, we are so grateful to have space indoors out of the weather!

Thank you to the Manure Men, Bob, Ned, and Jack, for bringing out their teams and spreading our manure pile for us! It had been creeping ever farther into the parking lot, so it was time for the manure to go somewhere else. It was so fun to watch them work, and our horses were so fascinated by everything going on! Videography credit goes to Freebie for going out into the pasture and getting videos! Thank you to everyone who helped! We are so grateful to have it done and had so much fun watching!

We have another volunteer training coming up! This is a great opportunity to get to know some of the horses, and brush up on information before summer session starts! With the weather warming up and the sun coming out, it seemed like a perfect week to decorate flower pots and plant some flowers during sessions!

Rosie was giving out free kisses through the window in the waiting area this week! If you didn't get one, she will be happy to come back to the window next week and provide one on request.

All of the horses and humans are so excited about the grass coming up and everything turning green again. Thank you everyone for making this into a wonderful week!
