We yet again had another amazing week! This week was filled with some crazy pools times🌊, fun at the petting zoo🐐, fishing🎣, pie-in-the-face friday🥧, and we even got a visit from an alien👽!!!

⭐️STAFF SPOTLIGHT⭐️: RENEE
Last but certainly not least meet Renee! Renee and her husband Joe are the Founders of Camp Circle Star and she is currently the Executive Director of Camp Circle Star. Before CCS, Renee worked as a Speech Pathologist. She has three kids. In her free time she loves to relax and spend time with family. Her favorite part about camp is getting to see the campers enjoy themselves in a fun and safe space while also giving their parents the respite they need. Can’t wait for a fun-filled summer!

⭐️STAFF SPOTLIGHT⭐️: JOE
Meet our Director of Operations! Joe and his wife Renee Founded Camp Circle Star. After working 30 years at KSDK he retired and took a full time role at Camp Circle Star, and is now spending his second full-summer working with CCS. He has a son, two daughters, and a dog. In his free time he likes to draw and take his take his dog, Koda on walks. His favorite part about camp is watching campers go fishing and catching a fish for the first time! So excited to have Joe this summer!

⭐️STAFF SPOTLIGHT⭐️: BRITTANY
Meet one of our Camper Support staff members, Brittany! Brittany graduated from UMSL with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health (K–12). She loves all things outdoors and sports and is a huge animal lover with several pets. In her free time, she enjoys attending concerts, crafting, and spending time outside. She first came to Camp Circle Star years ago as a personal assistant for one of the campers. Her favorite part of camp is seeing the joy and excitement the campers experience each day. She loves building connections with campers and watching them form meaningful friendships with one another. She believes camp is a place where campers can truly be themselves, have fun, and create great memories! Can’t wait for this summer with Brittany!

Meet our Indoor Assistant Camp Supervisor, Christine. She attended Benedictine College, where she graduated with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. She is the oldest of seven siblings, she has five brothers, one sister, and a growing family that now includes three sisters-in-law and one niece. Outside of camp, she enjoys reading, going on walks, and spending quality time with her family. Her connection to Camp Circle Star began through her cousin, who has been attending camp for many years. Seeing the impact camp had on her cousin inspired her to become part of the Camp Circle Star staff herself. Her favorite part of working at Camp Circle Star is watching campers experience pure joy and relaxation in an environment where they can truly be themselves. Can’t wait for another awesome summer with Christine.

⭐️STAFF SPOTLIGHT⭐️: JENNA
Meet our Outdoors Assistant Camp Supervisor! She recently completed her freshman year at the University of Kentucky, where she is majoring in Special Education. She is the youngest of three siblings, with an older brother and sister. Outside of camp, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going on walks, and getting creative through crafts.
amp Circle Star has always been a big part of her life, her parents, Joe and Renee, founded Camp Circle Star, so she has been involved with camp for a very long time! After years of helping behind the scenes, she officially joined the camp staff four years ago and has loved every minute of it! Her favorite part of camp is watching campers build meaningful friendships with their buddies and fellow campers throughout the week. Seeing those connections grow and the sense of community that forms at camp makes every summer special. So happy for Jenna to be back for another summer!

⭐️STAFF SPOTLIGHT⭐️: LILLY
Meet one of our Camper Support staff members! She is currently a sophomore at Marquette University, where she is majoring in Biology on the Pre-Dental track. She comes from a big family of nine and loves spending time with friends and family. When she’s not at camp, you can find her running, enjoying the outdoors, or hanging out with her dogs. Her Camp Circle Star journey started because her older sister who attends camp and absolutely loves it inspired her to begin volunteering and she quickly fell in love with the camp community. She is now in her second year as a staff member! Her favorite part of working at Camp Circle Star is helping campers discover activities they love and seeing the excitement, confidence, and joy those experiences bring. We’re so excited for our second summer with Lilly!
