Time is running out to apply as a You Belong mentor! ⏰
The deadline to apply is this Sunday, June 21 — and we'd love to see more Missouri library professionals step up for our 2026–2027 cohort.
What's involved: monthly check-ins with your mentee (remote is totally fine!), attendance at our Leadership Academy in Springfield on October 5, and one year of showing up for someone who needs your experience.
What you'll receive: travel to the Academy covered, plus an $800 stipend in July 2027.

The MLA You Belong Scholar Program is seeking mentors to support our second cohort of scholars: library workers from historically underrepresented communities pursuing their MLIS degrees.

If you have 5+ years of library experience, are a current MLA member, and identify as historically underrepresented in the profession, you could be exactly the guide a student needs to thrive.

Mentors receive travel support to the You Belong Leadership Academy on October 5 in Springfield, plus an $800 stipend at the end of their year of service.
