BearBear was following Eldon, who is blind, around the pasture, stopping every few feet to stand and watch him graze. I think he was just curious about him. He saw me and wasn’t sure if it was okay (it was), so he came back to check in. 🥹

Some of you may remember that BearBear and his family arrived at the sanctuary toward the end of last July. It was an emergency rescue. They were being actively baited, hunted and shot at by a lunatic and his two sons. But despite numerous calls from residents in Gustine and Comanche, TX, and public complaints on the county’s FB group, the sheriff’s dept refused to intervene. So we did.

He’s such a lovable big ol’ sweetheart and has only recently started roaming freely with Oz, so he’s still learning the lay of the land. He didn’t seem all that happy staying in the yard with his mom, Luna. He prefers to stay close to us, following us around, so that’s what he’s going to do. ❤️

My, my, my, how time flies when you’re shoveling mud to fill in dog- and pig-dug puddles, storm after storm after storm 🙃

I haven’t been posting as much because I’ve been buried in nonstop cleanup, landscaping, drainage work and trying to keep all of the animals dry, comfortable and calm through the chaos.

The rain slows everything down except for these hungry, hungry hipp.. er, uh.. animals.

So here we are again trying to make it to the 15th while running low on food supplies, especially dog food and pig feed.

Full bellies help everybody settle a little easier at night. Less pacing, less stress, more little children actually sleeping through the storms instead of barking at every leaf that blows by or trying to hide from the thunder.

Thank you to everybody who keeps helping us push through the harder seasons like this. Truly. We couldn’t do this without you.

Our monthly food donation was less than usual this month, and we could really use some extra help right now. Food is always the biggest and most urgent need here, especially dog and pig feed.

There are a lot of things this sanctuary needs to keep going, but feeding everyone comes first. Every single bag matters when you care for this many animals day after day.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us, donate, share our posts and help keep this sanctuary going. We truly would not still be here without you.

We are out of food for EVERYONE and d0n8t!0ns are at a standstill.

‼️This is the minimum of what we need to get through the 15th:

🐕 Dog food — 24 bags ($26)
🐕 Puppy food — 2 bags ($50)
🐈 Cat food — 2 bags ($28)
🐖 Pig food — 12 bags ($20)
🐓 Chicken feed — 2 bags ($23)
🐐 Goat feed — 2 bags ($17)
🦆 Duck feed — 1 bags ($26)

👉 $7 feeds 1 animal for 2 weeks.

Our reach has been down the past 6 or so months, so sharing helps also 💜

Thank you to everyone who helped us get through April 🧡 We wouldn’t be here without your continued support.

We were able to keep everyone fed and finally restock much needed hay with a big round bale 🙌

Now we are back down to crumbs, as tends to happen with so many mouths to feed.

We need to restock everyone: dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, ducks and goats.

$21 feeds 3 animals for 2 weeks 🐕🐷🐓
