Duffel of Dreams was created to be the dove that brings hope to God's children living within the foster care system. The Duffel of Dreams charity intends to fill a void caused by limited funding in the foster care systems. Through this charity, donated items like suitcases, personal care, hygiene, clothes, and personal possessions will be delivered to foster children within the community through f
ostering organizations. The luggage and items within will personally belong to the foster child to bring with them along their foster journey. Duffel of Dreams' first goal is to develop a foster parent support group in the local area and through a page. The purpose of this support group is to give foster parents a place to come together to share their thoughts, ask questions, and gain support and resources. Our second goal has been created to bring trauma informed care to foster parents about childhood trauma and how to support their foster child's mental health. The educational meetings will be held by trauma professionals, Occupational Therapist, and Social Workers. Last but not least, we hope to bring a traveling foster closet to the central Louisiana region. The traveling foster closet will be on a renovated school bus and will be driven by volunteers within Duffel of Dreams.
