TUESDAY IS BEF NEWS DAY!

For this year’s 2026 Douglas County Back2School Supply Drive, BEF is proud to be in partnership with United Way of Kaw Valley, ECKAN, Lawrence Schools Foundation, Eudora Public Schools & Foundation, and the Salvation Army.

Beginning July 1st, Baldwin collection bin sites will include Arrowhead Hardware, the Chamber Office, USD 348 District Office, the Community Center, BC Library, and Baldwin First UMC. Dropping off a notebook, a backpack, a package of pencils—anything can help make a difference!

This collaboration gathers and organizes resources for the 2026-27 school year with the aim of all Douglas County children having the necessary tools so that they may succeed on the first day of school and beyond! Thank you to all for contributing to this great cause!

This Saturday, the Santa Fe Trail Historical Society of Douglas County will present "Our Local History" tours. BEF will provide hospitality concessions as a free will donation. Attend and learn about community history and heritage!

GIVE: 2 opportunities—The 1st is through the Douglas County Community Foundation and is targeted for elementary STEAM projects at both the Primary and Intermediate Centers through BEF’s Innovative Project Grant program. The 2nd is a way to turn the lemon of gas prices into lemonade by simply using your Casey’s Rewards points to donate to Baldwin Schools!

BEF is proud to support Baldwin students and staff through scholarships and recognition programs. This year, 28 scholarships were awarded to the Class of 2026, totaling $25,400 in outreach. Congratulations to all recipients!

At last night’s BOE meeting, BEF joined Superintendent Dodge in recognizing Employees of the Month Becky Weaver and Megan Perry.
