On this day in 1869, I came to be. I have seen and experienced many things. I have seen nations rise and fall. I have seen world leaders come and go as well as local leaders. I have had my people sent into battle and some travel to the celestial lodge above. I have inspired many people to better themselves, I have helped my community and its people along the way. I have had my building burn to the ground, be moved, be destroyed in a tornado and rebuilt. I have experienced loss and I have experienced gain, but through it all me and my people remain! My people are the Freemasons of Fredonia Lodge #229! Today I celebrate 155 years of friendship, morality and brotherly love.

Brethren, The Dreaded Messenger of Death has again alarmed our outer door and has beckoned Brother Jerry Lee Werley to the land where our fathers have gone before us, that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald K**b, Arkansas with Brother Larry Robinson officiating. Visitation will be held prior to services from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow services at Goad Cemetery in Bradford, Arkansas.

Brothers, The donations are going well for the Arkansas Masonic relief efforts next trip to North Carolina, but we are far from having a full load. Folks on the ground are asking for tents, cots, Coleman type cooking stoves with fuel, sleeping bags, shovels, rakes, warm clothes, coats for adults and children, toys for children, Clorox bleach, disinfectant wipes, gloves, hats. We have had several monetary donations from lodges and private individuals as well. We are going to cash the checks and buy as many of the above mentioned items as possible. We are searching Market place for many of these items. We have had very generous donations of 8/10 hour candles, as well as chain saws, power tools, generators. We all know Arkansas Masonry is a special group of brothers. We are always available when called upon. Let’s continue to dig deep. We have plenty of time left to collect donations. If each lodge looks around and collects 2-3 items, imagine what that will look like. Please keep these people in mind, especially the children, who are currently sleeping on the ground where their house used to sit. Imagine these children having no Christmas, as their families have lost everything. If a lodge collects items but can’t get them to us, give me a call. We will arrange for a pickup. Thanks for everything you do. The next delivery is scheduled for Oct 25th
