The Prairie Highlands NDA branch in southwest Minnesota is looking for a few volunteers who are passionate about quality deer management and deer hunting in our area to take on leadership roles in our local branch. These duties would include organizing an annual fundraising event, organizing occasional branch meetings, and continuing to communicate with deer hunters and promote quality deer management in southwest Minnesota. Our Prairie Highlands NDA group would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Knochenmus and Ralco families for the loss of their family patriarch and President, Jon. As Ralco’s president, Jon has been one of the strongest and most generous contributors to our mission as a group and the community as a whole. His son Brian is one of our founding members, served as President for 10 years, and helped build the foundation of our group and mission for our organization. We send our prayers to Brian and his entire family for their loss. Blessed be his memory.

Good luck to all of the hunters tomorrow! Aging deer and age structure is vital in whitetail management. So please keep that in mind this gun season. Letting deer grow to a mature age is key to whitetail management. As hunters, let’s do our part.

Please continue to sign and share this petition if you are against this elimination of the shotgun only zone and to switch to allowing rifles in Southwest Minnesota for deer hunting! It is important to get as many signatures as possible. If you are wondering how this could make a difference, once we pass this petition around and get as many signatures, we will be delivering this petition with signatures to the authors, sponsors, and other applicable legislatures, as well as our DNR to show the opposition that they claim doesn’t exist!

Do not eliminate the Minnesota Shotgun Zones
