Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) started with one lemonade stand, hosted by our founder Alexandra “Alex” Scott in her front yard which raised $2,000. Alex was just 4 years old and battling neuroblastoma when she asked to give the money so doctors can find cures for all children battling cancer. and Canada raising more than $250 million so far, funding over 1,000 research projects and providing programs to families affected by childhood cancer.

Decades of childhood cancer research changed what was once an “easeful death” into a 90% cure rate for kids with Wilms tumor.

And that transformation didn’t come from one discovery—or one researcher.

It came in phases: new surgical techniques followed by advances in radiation and chemotherapy. More clinical trials and lab research led to a better understanding of tumor biology. It took years of researchers building on one another's work.

When you become an ALSF Charity Collaborator, you become part of something bigger: a community working together to change the future for kids with cancer.

For The Mya Lin Terry Foundation, that mission is deeply personal. After being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Mya's treatment led to secondary AML, the cancer that ultimately took her life.

Today, The Mya Lin Terry Foundation is an ALSF Charity Collaborator and co-sponsor of an innovative AML research project. Through this partnership, Mya’s family is helping give other children diagnosed with AML, especially secondary AML, a better fighting chance.

We’re honored to stand alongside The Mya Lin Terry Foundation and our Charity Collaborators as we work together to fund research, support families and create a brighter future for children with cancer. 💛

This week's featured childhood cancer hero is Giovanni Resendiz!

Giovanni is a resilient 13-year-old whose strength has inspired his family and community. When Gio was 4 years old, he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma. ALSF's Travel For Care program helped Gio get to his important radiation treatments, and today he is cancer-free! His family opened a restaurant, Gio's Pizzeria, in honor of their hero, and there they hold lemonade stands to give back and help more kids fight cancer!

We're giving a shoutout to our sweet partner, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill for being an important part of Lemonade Days! 🎉🍋

Firebirds supports ALSF all year by donating a portion of the proceeds from their Alex’s Lemonade to the Foundation. In June, they also host lemonade stands at all restaurants, and invite hero families to volunteer at the stands and treat them to a meal. We thank Firebirds for standing with ALSF in the fight against childhood cancer since 2012!
