Everyone with a breast cancer diagnosis deserves to feel seen and heard. But for many LBGTQIA+ people, that isn't always the experience.

Coping with a diagnosis is already overwhelming, but LGBTQIA+ individuals often face extra challenges — from navigating healthcare systems to finding trusted providers where they can share their true selves.

No matter who you are, your identity should never stand in the way of getting the care, respect, and support you deserve.

We are sad to share that Kirby Lewis, 2017 Hear My Voice Advocate, recently passed away. He was a vibrant, funny, creative, joyful person. He would often attend our Conference on Metastatic Breast Cancer with his wife, and he remained close with his HMV cohort throughout the years. He shared his story with the hope that it would impact others to raise awareness of breast cancer specifically in men and he encouraged others to be proactive towards breast awareness. His advocacy work leaves a lasting impact on the metastatic breast cancer community. We are grateful to Kirby, and he will be deeply missed.
