Another family helped!
As a single mom raising a special needs child, the past two years have been some of the hardest of our lives. Since Hurricane Helene destroyed our home, we have been living in a camper and relying on a gas generator just to get by. The winters have been incredibly cold, the summers unbearably hot, and every day has brought new challenges.
Almost a year ago, I first connected with Mitchell County Long Term Resilience Group because we needed help repairing our camper after a serious leak. What started as help with the camper turned into something much bigger. MCLTRG stepped in and began helping us rebuild our lives. They have helped with the road to our new homesite, installed our well and septic system, and provided assistance with gas, propane, and other essential expenses that have helped us make it through this difficult time.
I especially want to thank Starli. She is an amazing woman who has been there for us every step of the way. She has checked on us, visited us, supported us, and even given me a hug when I needed one most. Her kindness and compassion have meant more than words can express.
We are so ready to finally be back in a home again, but we would not have made it this far without the support of MCLTRG and the incredible people who have worked so hard to help us.
