Rest in Peace, Uncle Tom

Today my heart is heavy as I say goodbye to my Uncle Tom.

All my life, I knew him as a devoted man of God. He was one of the greatest spiritual influences in my life and taught me the importance of putting God first in everything I do. His faith was not something he only spoke about—it was something he lived every single day.

Uncle Tom was the kind of person who would give his all to help someone in need. He had a cheerful spirit, a kind heart, and a genuine love for people. No matter the situation, he always carried himself with faith, compassion, and a willingness to serve others.

It is hard to believe that he is really gone. His passing is a reminder that life is precious and that none of us know what tomorrow holds. More than ever, it reminds us that the Lord's return is drawing near and that we should make our calling and election sure.

My prayer is that everyone takes time to reflect on their relationship with God. Make sure you are saved, living for Him, and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. There is no greater decision we can make in this life than preparing for the life to come.

Thank you, Uncle Tom, for your example, your faith, your wisdom, and your love. Your impact will live on in the lives of everyone you touched.

Rest in peace. ❤️

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23

We would like to take a moment to thank the organizations, community leaders, council members, elected officials, faith-based organizations, educational institutions, and community partners who have already expressed their support for the vision and mission of Kern County Black Wall Street (KCBWS).

We would also like to extend our appreciation to those currently reviewing and considering our requests for support, including local colleges and universities, faith-led organizations, county representatives, community organizations, business leaders, and other stakeholders who recognize the importance of economic empowerment, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and community growth throughout Kern County.

As we continue to grow, KCBWS is actively searching for a permanent building location to serve as the official headquarters for our organization. We are seeking community support, partnerships, and assistance in identifying and securing a facility that can serve as a hub for business development, education, workforce training, community engagement, and economic advancement.

In addition to our economic and community development efforts, KCBWS remains actively engaged in legislative advocacy and policy development. We are committed to writing proposals, collaborating with stakeholders, and working alongside our current and future governors, elected officials, and policymakers to advance initiatives that promote economic equity, entrepreneurship, workforce opportunities, education, and sustainable growth for all residents of Kern County.

We are excited about what lies ahead and remain committed to creating lasting impact throughout Kern County. Thank you to everyone who has joined us on this journey and to those who continue to believe in our vision.

One Vision. One Voice. One Community.

Big things are coming to Kern County.

As time gets closer, KERN COUNTY BLACK WALL STREET is preparing to announce a brand-new program that will change lives and create real opportunities right here in Bakersfield, California.

We will be launching 4 new franchises in Bakersfield and selecting 30 individuals per location to personally train through the entire process. This will include:
• Speaking and meeting with franchise owners
• Learning how to secure business locations
• Understanding construction and business setup
• Marketing and brand growth
• Daily business operations and leadership development

This is more than a job opportunity — this is leadership development and ownership preparation.

From these selected individuals, participants will be directly hired to help manage and operate the businesses with paid training provided.

After several years with the company, terms to be discussed, Kern County Black Wall Street will fully fund and launch 1 individual per location into owning their very own franchise.

We are changing the work dynamic.
We are building real leaders.
We are creating pathways to generational wealth and true success.

Hopefully you all have been engaging with us, because engagement and support will be the only cost to apply.

Applications will be posted within the next couple of months.

This year, we will not be participating in the Give Big Kern event.

While we always value opportunities to engage, give back, and stand alongside our community, we are currently in a critical phase of growth. Our team is fully focused on securing locations, meeting with real estate property owners, and locking in a prime site to launch our very first business franchise right here in Kern County.

This is a major milestone for us—one that represents expansion, opportunity, and long-term impact for the community we serve.

At the same time, we are actively preparing for our grand opening next month, which requires our full attention, coordination, and commitment.

We appreciate the continued support and understanding as we build something that will create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and open new doors for our community.

Stay tuned… big things are coming.
