It's a familiar and wonderful Baby Café story: new mom comes to Baby Café Bakersfield for help and support with breastfeeding, succeeds at meeting her own goals, helps others while she's there, and "graduates" when she's ready to go back to her other job!
Except for a few special things this time: it wasn't Jenna's first time around with breastfeeding OR with Baby Café, AND she volunteered to help with getting new parents signed in and settled when she was there, AND she promises to help out in any way she can in her "spare time!" (Yeah, we know - there's hardly any of that when you're a mom! We just appreciate the sentiment!)
The truth is, we couldn't have done this work for the past 12 years without volunteers like Jenna. We appreciate you and we'll miss you and your babies when you aren't joining us every Tuesday, Jenna💞

Planning to breastfeed your baby? Baby Café Bakersfield is your go-to source for free breastfeeding help and information. Here's our October schedule - we always meet in person on Tuesdays from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Beale Library and on Wednesdays on Zoom from 9-10:30am. We also have a text and phone line that's available every day at (661)228-0230. You can reach an IBCLC anytime by texting or calling.
Breastfeeding help and education are always free at Baby Café Bakersfield, which is an independent non-profit organization based right here in Bakersfield. Tag a pregnant friend or a coworker who has a new baby!

Baby Café Bakersfield is always here for your breastfeeding and pumping questions, concerns, and education! You can reach out while you're pregnant or after your baby is born and our caring IBCLC staff will guide you through whatever you need.
There's no question too complicated, and we'll make sure you know just what you need to do next to feel more confident and comfortable feeding your baby.

Welcome to World Breastfeeding Week 2026! We are celebrating this year's theme Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works.
We know that personal breastfeeding support from an IBCLC works! We've been helping new families with breastfeeding in Bakersfield and the Kern County area for more than 12 years now.
Through our comprehensive services, including prenatal education, one-to-one breastfeeding consultations, group breastfeeding support, and in-person, virtual, and text/phone help, we are a wrap-around breastfeeding care destination for families.
Our services are free and accessible.
