We grow food for the world. So why are our neighbors hungry?
The Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) once named Bakersfield the city with the highest food hardship in the nation. At the time, we had already been feeding families in our community for nearly four years. That reality was a wake-up call we couldn’t ignore.
Here in the Central Valley, we grow food that feeds the world. Yet right here in our own backyard, children go to bed hungry. Seniors struggle to put food on the table. Families face impossible choices between groceries and other basic needs.
We believe our community deserves better. And together, we can make a difference!
Every month, we provide families with fresh, locally grown produce and locally sourced meats, partnering with the incredible farmers who make our region so special. These boxes do more than provide food. They bring nourishment, dignity, and hope to families who need it most.
But right now, we need YOUR help.
We have families who need boxes, and we have sponsorships waiting to be filled. We need individuals, families, and businesses to step up and help us close the gap.
$45 a month sponsors a food box for one family.
That’s $45 a month to help put fresh, nutritious food on a family’s table. That’s a tangible way to support local farmers while caring for our neighbors. That’s a community coming together to make sure fewer families go without.
Imagine what we could do if more of us stepped up.
Will you sponsor a box? Will your business get involved? Will you join us in the fight against hunger right here in Bakersfield?
No family should go hungry in a region that grows so much food.
Let’s take care of our own. Let’s turn our abundance into action. And let’s work together toward a Bakersfield where everyone has access to the food they need.
