What does a Community Health grant look like in action? It looks like meals on the street. Backpacks in a kid's hands. A man who was homeless, now in Phase 2 of recovery. A woman who once turned away — now coming to us for prayer. 🤍

We're grateful to Dignity Health CommonSpirit Health for investing in this work through their Community Health Improvement Grant. Our mid-year review showed we're on track — and the stories behind the numbers remind us why every dollar matters.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. We remember every life lost to overdose.

In 2025, 69,973 people died from an overdose. Of those, 44,564 deaths involved opioids, most driven by fentanyl.

✨ What happens when the Women's and Men's Campuses come together for chapel? Something powerful.

We had the privilege of hosting a combined chapel with a very special guest speaker — our own Amanda Natsues, Women's Campus Manager of Operations. Amanda shared her personal story of redemption, a powerful before-and-after testimony that reminded every person in that room of why we do what we do.

Her word from God was timely, real, and full of hope.

And before the message, GA Bakersfield led us in worship — setting the atmosphere and preparing hearts to receive.

We are grateful for leaders who lead from their testimony, for a church that shows up for our community, and for the moments when our two campuses become one family.

💙 We are so grateful for the time our Director, Michael Salinas, was able to spend with Pastor Wendell Vinson of Canyon Hills Assembly of God Church and CityServe Network!

Pastor Vinson, thank you for your generosity, your wisdom, and for pouring into Michael and the mission of Kern County Teen Challenge. Conversations like today's are a powerful reminder that we are not alone in this work — and that Kern County is blessed with leaders who genuinely care about the hurting and the broken.

The partnership between the local church and recovery ministry is something we deeply believe in, and we left that table encouraged, inspired, and more convinced than ever that Kern County's best days are ahead. 🙏

A CALL TO PRAY FOR BAKERSFIELD 🙏
Our hearts are broken over the tragedy that took place at Independence High School. A family is grieving, students and community members are carrying the weight of what they witnessed, and our city is hurting.
So we’re coming together.
Join churches, ministries, families, students, educators, first responders, and community members from across Bakersfield for a night of prayer and worship.

We will pray for the grieving family, for healing and peace for those who are traumatized, for protection over our schools, and for God to transform hearts throughout our city.
We stand with the brokenhearted. We mourn with those who mourn. And we lift Bakersfield before the Lord.
