Congratulations to our local students who competed and placed at the California Science & Engineering Fair!

This is the final science fair of the academic year for students throughout the State of California in grades 6-12, serving California's future scientists and engineers since 1952. Judging interviews of all projects were held at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks on April 11-12, 2026. This year there were 882 participants from 356 schools throughout the state presenting 725 projects in competition for nearly $30,000 in total awards, including the opportunities for the top award winners in the Junior Division to participate in the national Thermo Fisher Scientific competition, and for the top award winners in the Senior Division to compete in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).

Volunteers Needed for the STEAM Olympiad!

We’re looking for community members to help make our upcoming STEAM Olympiad a success! This exciting event brings students together for hands-on challenges in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math—and we need your help as a proctor.

As a proctor, you’ll:
🔹 Help oversee a student event or challenge
🔹 Keep activities running smoothly
🔹 Support a positive and fair experience for all participants

Date: May 2, 2026
Time: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Liberty High School

No experience is necessary—we’ll provide all the materials and guidance you need!

Whether you’re an educator, parent, college student, or community member, this is a great way to support local students and be part of an inspiring day of learning and teamwork.

This scholarship is designed to support Kern County students who demonstrate a passion for science, a commitment to academic excellence, and a desire to pursue STEM-related studies after high school. We encourage teachers, counselors, and community partners to help spread the word so students don’t miss this opportunity.
