Bakersfield Art Association The Bakersfield Art Association, non-profit since 1944. Originally built Cunningham Art Gallery before it became the Bakersfield Museum of Art.

The Art Center, currently located at 1607 19th Street, is a co-op art gallery showing members' art for sale. Also have classes, demonstrations, juried shows and workshops available. Check 869-2320 for dates and times. Parking structure is located around the corner at 18th & Eye.

Gail Caffey is bringing creativity, fun, and hands-on art experiences to kids this summer at the Bakersfield Art Center!

These classes are open to ages 5 and up, making them a great opportunity for young artists to explore their imagination and create something special.

“Making Art Is a Lifelong Journey”

Making art is one of the few professions in which we can continue to grow and improve with age. Yet the artistic path is often lined with hurdles, challenges, and creative walls. It is within those walls that growth and learning take place.

In this presentation, Art Sherwyn explores how artists can interact with those challenges and make the most of what they have to offer. He will share ideas and perspectives for keeping your artwork fresh, your creativity growing, and your artistic spirit motivated. Art will also discuss how artistic play promotes growth, discovery, and continued learning for artists at every stage of the journey.
