Ravi and Naina Patel Foundation Announces $1 Million Contribution to Launch New Transportation Program
The Ravi and Naina Patel Foundation (RNP Foundation) has announced their commitment of $1 million dollars to the Kern County Cancer Foundation Endowment. The funds generated from the contribution will be used to launch and sustain a new transportation program starting today, June 1st 2026, under the Kern County Cancer Foundation that will provide CBCC patients with much needed support for years to come.
Michelle Avila, KCCF’s Executive Director, states “Local cancer patients have been taken care of by Dr. Patel and his family for decades through the success of the Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center. It is no surprise that the Patel family’s commitment to local patients has led them to provide continued care for the overall health and needs of our patients and their families for years to come with this contribution. Transportation to and from treatment is one of the largest barriers to treatment success for families in our community. The RNP Foundation is helping us change patient outcomes by eliminating this obstacle.”
The unprecedented generosity of the Patel family has allowed KCCF to help thousands of patients in a significant way. As a result, the Kern County Cancer Foundation has become the largest provider of cancer support services in Kern County. As a Co-Founder of KCCF, Dr. Patel provided $500 thousand dollars in seed money to start the organization in 2012 so that patients in Kern County, regardless of treatment facility, were provided the financial assistance needed to cover the cost of their medical bills so that they could focus on healing. Now, with this generous gift, our neighbors, family and friends will also be provided transportation so that anyone who has cancer in our county and is in need can access care.
Amar Patel, Chief Philanthropy Officer of the RNP Foundation states “We are very excited to support the incredible work KCCF is doing through this commitment to the endowment fund and incredibly grateful for the services KCCF provides to cancer patients. Since co-founding KCCF with Leslie Knox in 2012, Dr. Patel has been very impressed with the support KCCF provides. We want to ensure that this support continues for years to come.”
Please join us in thanking the Ravi and Naina Patel Foundation for their support of our local patients.
