What We Stand For
We are the Kern County Scottish Society. Each year, for the past 24 years, we have been proudly sharing our rich Scottish heritage with the citizens of Kern County and the surrounding areas. Our mission is to promote and preserve Scottish traditions by educating residents about the connection between Kern County and their Scottish ancestors. We are a non-profit group that relies solely on funds raised by the events we organize, like the Kern County Scottish Games and the Burns Night Supper, and through sponsors and membership. Our organization strives to partner with other local non-profits and participate in community events in which we can accomplish our mission. Our motto on our logo reads “Iss ann den chlo’ an cathda” which is Gaelic for “All tartans are cut from the same cloth” . We welcome anyone as a member or to come join us at one of our events, whether you are Scottish or not, everyone is welcome!
