Founded in 1958 in Mobile, Alabama, Distinguished Young Women is the largest and oldest national scholarship program for high school girls. It has provided life-changing experiences for more than 780,000 young women and more than $116 million at local, state and national programs combined. The quest for scholarships begins at the local level, in towns and cities throughout California. Participants from each of our local and at-large programs advance to our State Finals Showcase in Bakersfield, California where five judges will select one participant to advance to the annual National Finals competition in Mobile, AL. Earlier this week, Audrey arrived in Mobile, Alabama, officially kicking off the start to DYW National Finals.
