💙Supporting One of Our VAC Families💙

Our Valley Achievement Center community is coming together to support one of our students, Cash, and his family as they face an incredibly difficult time.

Cash has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma, and his family has a challenging journey ahead. We know how much love and support can mean during moments like these, and we want Cash and his family to know that their VAC community is standing beside them.

A GoFundMe has been created to help support the family during Cash’s treatment. If you are able to contribute, any amount is greatly appreciated. Even if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this post can help their family tremendously.

Please keep Cash and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he begins this fight.

Thank you for helping us surround one of our VAC families with love and support.

As many know, sweet Cash has been diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma. The doctors are still in the proc… Baylee Holt needs your support for Cash’s Cancer Fight

We held a funeral for cookies today.

Yes, there’s a reason. 😂

We’re filming Video 3 of our Person-Centered Thinking series with Inclusion Films and this one tackles one of the most important concepts in PCT: understanding the difference between what is important TO someone and what is important FOR them — and what happens when those two things don’t perfectly line up.

Because supporting someone isn’t just about keeping them healthy and safe.

And it isn’t just about giving them whatever they want.

It’s about learning the person well enough to find the balance between the two.

Apparently, sometimes that requires burying cookies. 😂

🎓 College shouldn’t feel out of reach.

For many people, the biggest obstacle isn’t the coursework—it’s simply knowing where to begin.

At Valley Achievement Center, our Tailored Day Services are designed to help participants turn educational goals into achievable plans. Whether you’re interested in Bakersfield College, CSUB, trade school, or another educational path, our team is here to walk alongside you through every step of getting started.

We can help participants:
📚 Explore educational options that match their goals.
📝 Complete applications, financial aid forms, and enrollment paperwork.
🤝 Connect with campus disability support services and schedule important appointments.
🚌 Build transportation plans and learn how to confidently get to and from campus.
🎯 Navigate deadlines, organize next steps, and overcome barriers that can make the process feel overwhelming.
💙 Advocate alongside participants during important meetings when they want our support.

Education creates opportunities, builds confidence, and opens doors to greater independence. Our role is to help participants move from “I don’t know where to start” to “I’m ready.”

If college or continuing your education has been on your mind, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Your goals. Your future. Your path. We’re here to help you take the first step.

One of our favorite scenes to film.

Because Person-Centered Thinking isn’t about celebrating compliance—it’s about supporting people to live meaningful lives.

Special thanks to the The Historic Bakersfield Fox Theater for making this scene possible.
