Bakersfield Pet Food Pantry We are located at 4300 Stine Rd, suite 405. We are open the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10-12. Please bring your ID. WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Our mission is to provide emergency pet food to long term owners who have fallen on hard times. We started in April of 2009, donating pet food to folks who were receiving food from a local church and soup kitchen in Oildale. Quickly we saw a need far broader in this town than imagined. Bakersfield has a high unemployment rate along with overcrowded animal shelters. Many community members don’t have enough money to feed their beloved four-legged companions. They often have to make a choice between feeding themselves or their pet. To date, over 600,000 pounds of pet food has come through our pantry to be given to those in need. Hardship continues for many in our community and the need seems to grow each year. We need your help more than ever! Donations of dog and cat food can be dropped off at All 3 Self Serve Pet Spa locations, Scruffy to Fluffy Pet Spa, Coffee Road Vet, and at Fur and Feathers on Allen Road. All of which are in Bakersfield. We get calls everyday from desperate pet owners asking for help. Many of our pet food recipients frequent food banks themselves. We are solely dependent on public support of monetary contributions, pet food, and volunteer work. Our goal is no family pet goes hungry. Pet food is something we are always in need of. We welcome any brand of dog or cat food, whether it’s bagged or canned, your donation may be dropped off at one of our Barrel Buddies locations in Bakersfield. You can also help BPFP by giving a tax-deductible, monetary contribution via check to Bakersfield Pet Food Pantry, P.O. Box 20801, Bakersfield, CA 93390 or online using the Paypal or Venmo.

We served 103 pet owners today! That means approximately 450 pets (including one crow 🐦‍⬛) will have full tummies 🍖🍗🥓🐠

Our recipients and their pets come from all walks of life and all kinds of situations.

What they all have in common is an unexpected need for pet food.

Your donations, of both pet food and money, help feed so many deserving pets 🐾💜

We are so grateful to all of the people who responded to our 🆘 for pet food for today’s distribution. We couldn’t have done it without you! Individuals donated a few pounds each to a few hundred pounds each, and it all went out today. Everything is appreciated and helps so much.

Special shout out to Kern County Animal Services and Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, who generously donated 1,000 pounds of pet food for today! 🐾🥰

The Pantry provides emergency pet food to help owners continue caring for their family pets despite economic hardship. Keeping pets at home with the people they love.

We open our doors the 2nd and 4th Saturday each month from, 10am - 12pm, to qualified applicants.

In addition, the Bakersfield Pet Food Pantry works together with senior organizations & facilities such as Meals On Wheels and Plaza Towers. By partnering with these community organizations, we’re able to help low income homebound seniors keep their pet fed, and by their side.

In addition there are businesses around town that graciously maintain donation barrels for us where donations can be made during their business hours. Please request the names if dropping off donations outside of Pantry hours works better.

We also have wishlists that allow donors to ship donations to us.

The Bakersfield Pet Food Pantry is again unexpectedly extremely low on pet food. Currently we do not have enough food to assist the pet community this Saturday 10/24/26 at our next distribution.

The Bakersfield Pet Food Pantry knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives.

Pet Food delivery to Plaza Towers in action 🐾💜

Once a month the Bakersfield Pet Food Pantry delivers pet food to the seniors and disabled at the two building low income complex managed by the Housing Authority 🐾

The first picture is “the inspector” making sure all the bags that will be transported to Plaza Towers had the correct items 😉🍖🍗🥓🐟🐠

Today we took donations of home made dog beds (thank you Kendra), donated gently used dog beds, donated pet clothing, donated blankets, and donated hygiene products, as well as pet food.

During the month of December we hold the Senior Christmas Wishlist program and today we started the process of completing wishlists today 🎄🎁

Your donations of pet food, pet supplies, and funds, go to assist this population as well as individuals in need in the general community 🐾💜🤗

The Bakersfield Pet Food Pantry depends on the kindness of others for donations.

Kendra made more tote bags from recycled pet food bags for the Pantry 🐾💜

The totes are whimsical and have colorful straps. These come in so handy to carry all kinds of things 📚 🥫🎧🍈🍩

They are available on a donation basis. Please PM for dates to pick up.
