BakersfieldSound.org is a digital initiative from the Bakersfield Country Music Museum designed to preserve, promote, and connect the history of the Bakersfield Sound.

It includes sections on Artists & Musicians, the Museum, History, and Education & Schools, with resources intended for educators, students, and the community.

Join us for our September KAN workshop on Friday, September 18th! Networking begins at 8:00 AM, with the program running from 8:30 to 10:00 AM.

Reimagine the Problem: Creativity, Innovation & Better Solutions explores how innovation doesn't always require a big budget or a groundbreaking idea, sometimes it starts with seeing a familiar problem differently. This workshop introduces practical strategies for challenging assumptions, expanding possibilities, and approaching organizational challenges with greater creativity.

Led by Amy Travis, CEO of Kern Community Foundation.

Kern Community Foundation recently gathered with a representative from the Nnanedu Odeluga Memorial Fund to celebrate this year's scholarship recipient, who will be attending UC San Diego this fall to study engineering.

Over lunch, the group looked back on everything it took to get here, and looked ahead to everything still to come. This scholarship carries a legacy forward, and it was an honor to send this student off with a community behind them. Best of luck at UCSD.

Kern Community Foundation's Angie Griffith, Associate Director of Scholarships, recently spent time with Nickel Family Scholarship leadership, including President Brian Grant, and several Nickel Family Scholarship recipients.

The group talked through advancements in agriculture technology, the history of the Nickel family, and how the scholarship is helping students secure internships and jobs in the industry. It was a great afternoon of real conversation, and a reminder of the impact these connections have on students building their futures.
