Greater Bakersfield Chamber Join us in Building Something Better! The Chamber is supported entirely by its membership and receives no government funding or contracts.

Proudly serving the Greater Bakersfield area for the past 100 years, the Chamber is a convener of leaders, a catalyst for action, and a champion for our community. The GBC is organized to focus attention and initiate private sector action on the major issues affecting the economic well-being and quality of life in the area. The policies and programs of the Chamber are determined by its membership through the Board of Directors. They, in turn, select a paid full-time chief executive whose basic function is to organize and execute the Chamber's program of work. The chief executive assembles a professional staff to assist in supporting the membership. The GBC works through a number of committees and task forces. Members who participate in these committees and task forces have a direct impact on Chamber positions and influence community action.

Congratulations to Leadership Bakersfield Team 4 on the successful completion of their project with Magdalene Hope!

Team 4 renovated the Bakersfield Women's Center at Magdalene Hope. The center is a safe space for women facing exploitation, abuse, homelessness, or crisis. Through donated materials and volunteer workdays, the team transformed the space and provided clothing, hygiene products, and other resources for the women at the center.

We appreciate the hard work and dedication of Team 4, volunteers, and sponsors to making this project possible.
