I hope that all of you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving, spending time with family and friends, eating your favorite holiday recipes, and reflecting on the blessings in your lives.

Our annual food drive is going strong, except we haven't seen any 4-H clubs step up and donate. I will give you some incentive! A free pizza party will be given to the club who donates the largest amount of food!

Now would be a good time to go through your pantries to clean out items that didn’t get used, or that may spend the next year languishing on the dark shelves. Those items could make a difference in the lives (and stomachs) of other members of our community that don’t enjoy the same level of food security that we do. Those to whom a can of green beans, chili, or beans means eating something, instead of nothing.

If you don’t have spare items in your pantry, or don’t have the time to get to your local Costco, Winco, or Grocery Outlet, remember that the food drive will accept cash donations. Every dollar that you donate equates to two pounds of food, which is a way better value than you will find in any store.
