As this heatwave continues through Central California, the CHP Fort Tejon area reminds drivers to ensure their vehicles are in proper working order prior to traveling. Over the weekend there were numerous vehicles that overheated, leaving drivers and passengers stranded in these hot elements.

If you are traveling ensure your vehicles maintainance is up to date, carry extra water in your vehicle, and if you start experience any mechanical issues exit the freeway and call for assistance. While waiting for assistance if you or anyone with you starts to experience heat stroke or any other difficulties do not hesitate to call 9-1-1. Stay safe as you travel and continue to take extra precautions while traveling in these hot conditions.
