Bienvenidos a Canastitas de Esperanza USA!
Somos un grupo de peruanos residentes en California - EEUU. Quienes nos identificamos y solidarizamos con nuestros hermanos peruanos, en Peru, quienes vienen atravesando momentos difíciles durante la cuarentena por el Covid19.
Nuestro principal objetivo es ayudar a la gente más vulnerable en el Peru, en Huancayo y sus alrededores, quienes no han recibido el bono económico por parte del Estado, ni la canasta familiar que el gobierno ha designado durante el aislamiento social obligatorio en el país.
Contamos con el trabajo voluntario y comprometido de dos maestras en la ciudad de Huancayo, Hedelina Herrera y Heidy Herrera. Quienes se encargan de armar las canastas, e identificar a nuestro grupo objetivo, y hacerles llegar una canasta de víveres.
Nuestro grupo objetivo son los ancianos desprotegidos, familias que no han recibido ninguna ayuda por parte del gobierno, y personas que coloquen una bandera blanca en sus hogares, como señal de que están en necesidad.
Por esa razón, Canastitas De Esperanza USA, ha decidido hacer donaciones monetarias y llevar una canasta de víveres a los más necesitados.
Este proyecto empezó como el deseo familiar de ayudar, y viendo la necesidad en Peru, decidimos hacer extensiva la invitación a mas peruanos residentes en Estados Unidos, para que puedan aportar con su granito de arena a que más familias vulnerables, y ancianos; no queden desamparados durante esta crisis sanitaria por la que todos estamos atravesando.

Welcome to Canastitas de Esperanza USA!
We are a group of Peruvians residing in California, USA that identify and stand in solidarity with our fellow brothers and sisters in Peru who are facing challenging times during the mandatory quarantine being imposed because of COVID-19.
Our prime objective is to help those who have neither received the stimulus check (bono economico) nor the food baskets (canasta familiar) that the Peruvian government indicated would be distributed to the most vulnerable folks in our country.
For these reasons, Canastitas De Esperanza USA, has decided to collect monetary donations to go towards the purchase and distribution of baskets with food/goods for those most in need.
We count on the dedicated support of an amazing team of volunteers led by two local teachers, Hedelina and Heidy Herrera in the city of Huancayo and surrounding areas. They have taken the responsibility of putting together the baskets, identifying those in need, and carrying out the deliveries.
Our target demographic includes the elderly, families that have not received government assistance, and folks who place a white flag outside of their homes indicating they are in need of food/aid.
This project began with our collective families’ desire to help our fellow Peruvians during the pandemic. After seeing the magnitude of this crisis and the impact it had in our country, we decided to extend the invitation to other Peruvians residing in the US so that they too can pitch in and help us ensure that those living in extreme poverty are not forgotten during these trying times.
