June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, and today was a meaningful reminder of why this cause is so important to our walk coordinator Justina Cruz-Howell💜
She spent the day spreading awareness about brain health and sharing information about the Bakersfield Walk to End Alzheimer’s coming up this October.
She had the opportunity to connect with professionals from The Aging Network, (TAN), discussing resources, education, and the importance of supporting individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
Later, she spoke with veterans at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 38, sharing the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s and information about the upcoming walk and helping raise awareness in the community.
With Alzheimer’s affecting so many families—including hers—every conversation matters. Education leads to understanding, understanding leads to action, and together we can make a difference.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to listen, ask questions, and learn more today. In Kern County, no one fights Alzheimer’s alone.
💜 Join us at the Bakersfield Walk to End Alzheimer’s this October as we continue the fight for a world without Alzheimer’s.
