We are excited to welcome Steven Garber, Keynote Speaker for the Bakersfield Prayer Breakfast on February 4th.
Steven has been a teacher of many people in many places, a professor for undergraduates, graduates, and folk at work in the world. The founder of the Washington Institute for Faith, Vocation and Culture, he now also serves as the Senior Fellow for Vocation and the Common Good for the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, the Professor at-Large for the Economics of Mutuality and Senior Fellow for the Institute for Marketplace Transformation; for several years he was also the Professor of Marketplace Theology at Regent College, Vancouver BC. The author of several books, his most recent are Visions of Vocation: Common Grace for the Common Good, and The Seamless Life: A Tapestry of Love and Learning, Worship and Work. With his wife Meg, they are the parents of many children and grandchildren, and have long lived in Virginia among family, friends and flowers. A native of the mountain valleys of Colorado and California, he grew up in Shafter, which is still a deep home to him.
