RIP to our good friend Ronda Keyes. Rhonda was one of our first senior adopters. She was so very sweet and we will miss her with our whole hearts. We matched her with our little dog Jasper and neither of them had ever found such a good friend before. Jasper quickly won everyone's heart in the apartment complex where they lived. He immediately learned how to jump up onto Ronda's walker, to be taken outside for walks and potty breaks. Ronda was always such a huge supporter of our rescue and always came to our bingo games. We so enjoyed seeing her there with her friends David and Margaret. We will miss you Ronda. And thank you for giving Jasper his best life ever. We have Jasper back in our care for now. Will we will be looking for a new senior friend for Jasper eventually, but for now, we are healing his little broken heart as best we can. Thank you, Ronda, for sharing part of your life with us... And with Jasper. We will do our best to make sure Jasper is happy again although we know you will always keep a big place in his heart, as you will in ours.

For those of you following the story of our orchard babies here is a quick update with pictures in the comments! They have come so far. From being born out in the orchard, having their mother (who was dumped out there. pregnant and alone) run over by a car, to living alone under the seatrain in the hole momma dug to make a home for them. Their only real contact with people were the kind men from both Contra Costa Electric Co. (thank you Robert! They appreciated you sharing half of your sandwich with them!) and California Resources Corp. (thank you Donte and the other CRC guys!) who came out to service the orchard equipment. All those guys brought food out to them almost daily. Pretty sure they wouldnt have made it otherwise so huge shout out to them! And a giant thanks to Eddie Revilla and his wonderful wife Gina for all of the hours you put in trying to catch these little stinkpots! You guys are amazing!) After a few weeks of decompressing the babies began to allow us to touch them. First it was just a scritch under the chin, then slowly it was more. And boy take a look at them now! We cant pick them up yet (but we are working on it) but they have come so far.🥰We are so proud of these little girls! As it ends up, it is 2 girls, not a boy and a girl as we first thought, it took us awhile to get close enough to see their parts, lol. They still have a ways to go, potty training, shots and getting spayed but we are confident they will be ready to handle all that soon! Thanks again to the men from CRC, Contra Costa Electric, Eddie and Gina and to the orchard owner for alerting us to them and trying so hard to help us catch them. What a great group of folks we were so blessed to have around us. (Thanks God for sending them BTW!) If you are interested in adopting one of these girls please contact us for an application! And check out the comments for the latest pics of these little squirts! Have a great weekend!☺

Thank you Lisa Stubbe for a most generous donation of $400 in loving memory of Lois McNeece whose, according to Lisa, "kindness and love for dogs, as well as her family, will continue to bring comfort and joy to others."
What a sweet thing to do Lisa and we were very touched by it as I am sure Lois's family is as well.
Thank you again Lisa for your thoughtfulness 💜🌹💜🌹💜
