Integrating the arts into our civic infrastructure—through parks, public transit, and community spaces—enhances the quality of life, fosters social connection, and improves health and well-being. 86% of Americans believe arts and culture can improve their community’s quality of life and livability.

Destination Crenshaw is a community development organization based in Los Angeles leading the creation of a 1.3-mile outdoor art park featuring sculptures, murals, and more, all created by Black artists. By integrating culture into the built environment and leading with culturally specific strategies to animate place, Destination Crenshaw is empowering local Black creatives with radical joy and transforming the neighborhood into a thriving cultural hub and city destination.

Let’s advocate for integrating the arts into our civic infrastructure to enhance public spaces and strengthen cultural communities. Join us this April as we advocate for the restoration of $5 million to the CAC’s budget.
