Baker fire department held their annual ladies night this past Saturday evening. Several awards were presented after dinner was served. Tristan Singer and Dallas Arnell both received there 1 year anniversary honors of receiving their badge and name tags. Andrew Craft was awarded the fire fighter of the year award. Scott Putnam was awarded the Chiefs award. We would like to thank all of our significant others that keep everything together behind the scenes. Without them we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. A huge thanks to all of you!!!

On the morning of 4/8/26 Baker fire was paged out to a grass fire northwest of Baker on valley view Road. Thanks to quick response and the county road the fire was contained to just under 40 acres. Huge thanks to Plevna Fire for providing assistance on this fire.

On the evening of 4/8/26 Baker fire held a wild land refresher class for the members that was put on by the Montana DNRC. This class is designed to go over wild land fire fighting safety, look out conditions, and fire shelter deployment.

11626 [9:43am} At approximately 8:20am it was reported that a large grain bin blew onto the railroad tracks near the main crossing at Baker, MT. This is causing some malfunction in the railroad crossing arms. The owner of the grain bin is coordinating the removal of the bin from the railroad tracks at this time. We ask that the public remain alert as you travel and keep out of the way as the debris is cleaned up.

The Baker Fire dept conducted ice rescue training on Wednesday evening December 10th on Baker lake. The dept worked with the rescue equipment on different rescue scenarios out on the ice, firefighters took turns doing different jobs required to save someone.The ice was approximately 3" to 5" thick.
The Baker Fire dept would like to remind the public to use caution when going onto the ice.

Baker Fire Department has had multiple garbage/dumpster fires the last few days due to improper disposal of used fireworks. We would like to remind everyone to please soak all fireworks with water by garden hose or submersion and allow to set over night before putting in any garbage containers.
