In 2016 Central City Autism Awareness was selected as the leading benefactor of Cooking In Central, LLC, to raise funds necessary to transform classrooms in the Central Community School System i

nto a therapeutic classroom/gym in 6 schools. Each classroom/gym would be completed with age appropriate therapeutic equipment recommended by occupational, physical, developmental and speech therapists. Under the guidance and recommendations of nationally recognized Autism advocate, lobbyist and founder of Unlocking Autism and founder of the The Power Of One March in Washington D.C. Shelley Hendrix and Dr. Stephen Felix, Director of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, Central City Autism Awareness is successfully collaborating with school systems, founders of therapeutic networks and providers to address the unmet need to provide for all children and young adults with Autism and special needs.
