Update: All students from Baker High School have been reunited with their families. We are grateful for the cooperation of our students, families, staff, Baker Police, and emergency personnel during today’s incident.

We continue to keep the injured young man and his family in our thoughts and prayers. Local authorities continue to investigate, and the District will continue to follow their guidance regarding campus safety.

Out of an abundance of caution, Baker High School’s summer school program will move to a virtual format for the remainder of the summer, and all school activities are suspended until further notice. Additional updates will be shared through official District communication channels.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We are aware of the incident that occurred near Baker High School during football practice and have been working closely with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation.

Based on information provided by law enforcement, the incident appears to have originated from outside the school campus. We are grateful that no students or staff members suffered serious injuries. We also appreciate the swift response of the Baker Police Department and other first responders who acted quickly to secure the area and ensure the safety of everyone on campus.

While the investigation remains ongoing, we are reviewing all available information and will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement. As additional verified information becomes available, we will share updates with our school community.

We understand the concern this incident has caused for our families, staff, and community. Please know that the City of Baker School System remains committed to maintaining a safe learning environment and will continue taking every reasonable measure to protect our students and employees.

Happy Last Day of School!

Tomorrow, May 21st, marks the final day of the school year, and we want to thank our students, families, teachers, staff, and community for another year of hard work, growth, and dedication.

To our students: we are proud of your perseverance and accomplishments. To our teachers and staff: thank you for the care, commitment, and energy you pour into our schools each day. To our families: thank you for your continued support and partnership.

We hope everyone has a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer break. Take time to relax, recharge, and make great memories.
