I want to take a moment to introduce myself to this incredible community. My name is Jenny Blair, and I recently stepped into the role of Executive Director at MayDay.
For those who may not know me, my background has been rooted in mental health promotion, su***de prevention, and youth services here in Baker County. I have been working with youth and families in Baker County for over 10 years. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside schools, families, law enforcement, and community partners to build systems of care that support individuals during some of their most vulnerable moments. That work has always been about connection, prevention, and showing up when it matters most.
Stepping into this role at MayDay was not a decision I took lightly. I chose to be here because I believe deeply in supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and those experiencing loss who are often underserved. This organization has a long-standing history in our community, and I see both the need and the opportunity to rebuild it into something strong, sustainable, and deeply rooted in trauma-informed care.
Right now, MayDay is in a critical rebuilding phase. We are working to stabilize operations, strengthen our foundation, and ensure that we can continue to provide safe, reliable support to those who need it most.
And this is where I’m asking for your help.
I am actively seeking individuals who are willing to step forward and be part of this journey. Specifically, I am looking for community members with experience in:
• Nonprofit governance
• Financial oversight and budgeting
• Organizational leadership
• Strategic planning
We need strong, committed board members who are ready to roll up their sleeves and help guide MayDay forward during this pivotal time.
In addition, MayDay is in immediate need of financial support to help sustain day-to-day operations as we rebuild. Community contributions—whether through donations, business sponsorships, or connections to funding opportunities—will directly support our ability to keep essential services available for survivors in Baker County.
If you have ever felt called to make a difference, to stand alongside survivors, and to help shape the future of a vital community resource—this is that moment.
Please reach out to me directly if you are interested in serving on the board, supporting financially, or learning more about how you can be involved. You can contact me at 541-523-9472 or [email protected] Even sharing this post helps us extend our reach.
Thank you for your continued support, your belief in this work, and your commitment to this community.
