What a week!🤠
We kicked off our summer camp season with a leadership training camp attended by the young women on our leadership team who will be serving during our next weeks of summer camps.🌲
From many trail rides through the forest, to riding the obstacle course, the girls spent time growing their horsemanship every day. They also spent the week learning what leadership looks like in real life. Together we explored what it means to lead with integrity and character, how nonprofits operate, the role of donors and fundraising, camp planning, marketing, equine care, trailering safety, and how to be leaders in their homes, schools, churches, and communities.🐎
Our camp theme this year is taking thoughts captive based on 2 Corinthians 10:5. Throughout the week the girls spent time in scripture learning how to recognize lies, replace them with God‘s truth, and make their thoughts obedient to Christ.✝️
Some of our favorite moments included a lake day with kayaking and teambuilding challenges, campfires and s’mores, worship in the arena surrounded by horses, and a special evening at the cross where we prayed over one another’s burdens and needs. We ended the week with a “cowgirl ball”- a beautiful evening of dinner, dancing, and laughter in the forest.
We’re so grateful for these young women and know God has great things in store, not only for them, but for the campers they will encourage and serve in the weeks ahead.🥰
